Karen Palmer is an award-winning international artist and TED speaker known as the Storyteller from the Future. She creates immersive film experiences using AI and facial recognition to reveal subconscious behaviors, blending neuroscience, psychology, and parkour philosophy. Her recent project, Consensus Gentium, is an emotionally responsive film designed for mobile devices, exploring the future of surveillance and AI bias.
Described as a thought leader in immersive storytelling and futurism, Karen has delivered keynotes and workshops globally. She has collaborated with organizations like Microsoft, Google, and the British Councils, and has been featured in various prestigious events and festivals.
Her installation RIOT, recognized with a Digital Dozen Award, uses AI to navigate through riots, helping players build new neurological pathways. She also received an Honorary Mention for Perception iO, an AI law enforcement training simulation highlighting human bias and the need for transparency in AI.
Karen has developed Hack the Future Labs, integrating art, neuroscience, technology, and social justice to create impactful interdisciplinary discussions and story worlds. Her work has been exhibited at renowned institutions like the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the V&A London.
